I tried applying the Agaricus extract topically for about a week. No stinging so I knew it wasn’t working but continued with my experiment. I’m still taking it orally. Fighting it from the inside out. So I’m adding this to my daily mix of vitamins and herbs I take. So with that being said: My latest find is Turmeric. I have some on order and what you want to look for is Curcumin as the far as percentage in the extract. Search for Curcumin and Turmeric skin cancer on line and you will be amazed. I have some great links about them, but I’m guessing I’m not allowed to add them here. This is a spice/herb I’ll be taking for sure. Topically we’ll see. The spice/herb is very cheap and I have the extract with high content of Curcumin on order.

The plant generally known as bloodroot is the Sanguinaria canadensis. A beautiful North American plant with a bright white flower that lasts only for few days. The root extract is very red and has been used as a stain and medicine traditionally by Native Americans. This is the plant used externally for skin cancer.
Turmeric is definitely a totally different plant. Curcuma longa is a culinary and medicinal plant native to South Asia. It has traditionally been used as the main ingredient in curry powder. Lots of promising research has been done recently about its cancer fighting properties and the U.S. National Institute of Health has four clinical trials underway to study curcumin treatment for pancreatic cancer, multiple myeloma, Alzheimer's, and colorectal cancer.
When referring to plants for medicinal purposes it is always better to use the latin names. Common names are meaningless and many plants actually have several common names - some of them are the same as common names for other plants. For example many plants with roots running at the surface are called "snakeroot". But the name relates to a different plant if you live in Northern Ontario or in Southern Arizona.

Its amazing there are not more anecdotes about curcumin in this topic. There really is so much research and now experience with it. I have been reading research studies about curcumin and polyphenols since our niece was diagnosed with cancer about 2006. Twenty eight and two children she passed away about two years later. I knew nothing like I know today about this subject. However, our sad experience started a search. I also found great appeal from curcumin and Green Tea and Ginger in my practice of psychology with chronic pain.
About a year ago I looked in the mirror and found a black spot on my forehead. It had appeared very suddenly, was very black and an eight of an inch in diameter. it was obviously attached and not going anywhere. I became annoyed as it screamed at me in the rear view mirror. Then I became concerned. In the meantime I had purchased a bottle of Turmeric serum made by Andalou at the healthfood store. With few to no expectations I started applying this once a day sometimes twice. Several weeks later while at work washing my hands I noticed the "beast" was the color of, tan, no longer black. I was amazed and emboldened by this and concocted a curcumin cream that was much stronger. I applied this nightly and found more rapid lightening of color and gradual thinning of the boundaries, shrinking. The yellow spots in the sheets were a great source of marital disharmony however, so I took to covering this nightly concoction with a bandaid. This really worked to keep the curcumin constantly in contact with the spot and within two weeks I ran my thumb across the spot and it ....... flaked off. There in my thumb nail. Completely gone from my head! I was overjoyed and all were amazed as no one had had this experience outside of a surgical removal. An Internal Medicine doctor I work with was amazed too. Now I proudly wear my hair combed back to show my clear forehead which my wife says is perfect, :). I now use Green Tea as prevention. I don't really know if this was a cancer because it was gone before I made the dermatology appointment. It may have been a dysplastic nevus but it was abnormal and certainly a result of sun damage from all of those days of running in the San Diego sun. I have another that is more stubborn but I will save that for another post. |

Hello, here is my report on curcumin on a basal/squamous carcinoma:
I have a long history of multiple carcinomas, basal and squamous and even a rare type known as metatypical. Things that worked for me were : Frankincense oil, orange oil, and of course Euphorbia peplus. I noticed that some of my skin cancer are responding to only one of those substances, I got some cleared with the Frankincense and some with the Euphorbia.
I cleared one with the Euphorbia near my eyebrow one year ago and it came back a few weeks ago, as I already tried the orange and Frankincense before I decided to use some curcuma longa powder mixed with a fresh aloe vera gel to get a compound. It was covered during the night with a 3M tape.
After a week of this I can see a 90 percent disparition of the lesion, it is not bleeding anymore. I will continue to apply this mixture for a week or two and will report the result.
For now I can tell that the curcumin works really well and fast with no pain. It can be aplied without risk near my eye.
It is strange that I was not able to feel any sensation with the orange oil while this area was starting again to bleed. Apparently the orange oil test is not working for all type of cancer.
Hope that this report will help some others, Al. |

Update day 10 of my curcuma/aloe vera experiment : the carcinoma is now fully cleared, the area has a slight pink color but I'm sure it will return to a normal aspect in the next weeks. The orange/yellow stain from the curcuma is not permanent and is easy to clean.
For now my conclusion is that the formula is very efficient but I can't tell if the success is due to the aloe vera or the curcuma as both seem to have an anti cancer effect.
I used ordinary curcuma longa powder sold for cooking and a fresh aloe vera gel from a plant.
I would recommend this treatment to anyone that has a recurent carcinoma after a first Euphorbia peplus treatment.
I can add that I had a lot of actinic keratosis with some squamous areas that were all cleared in 2 or 3 weeks by appying once a day some orange peel oil. This was done a year ago and the skin is still clear.
2 years ago I had a large 5cm metatypical infiltrative carcinoma on my forehead that was partly removed at the hospital. During 2 months I applied olive oil mixed with frankincense oil. I then returned to the hospital for a biopsy and they found no trace of cancer, today the area is still clear.
During the next months I'll update this post if there is anything suspect on my skin in the same area.

Hi Al,
Congratulations! Sounds very encouraging but as you know there is no "one way" it seems to get these darn lesions... I want to try the curcuma / aloe gel combo and see how it does...I find the no pain thing EXTREMELY desirable as what I am doing right now hurts like heck!
What brand of Curcuma longa powder and Aloe Gel did you use?
Thanks,
Tom |

Hi Tom,
The video you linked is very interesting, apparently the curcuma method is not always a success.
I tried to upload a photo of my eyebrow after the euphorbia treatment but I got the message "500 internal server error".
The curcuma powder label on the box has nothing special, it only indicates "curcuma from organic origin Madagascar". It is sold for cooking.
The Aloe is a true aloe vera plant (not the arborescens type) that I have in my garden.
I always try to use several methods because I think my skin has various levels of DNA damage, sometimes it takes a lot of tries to get a definitive result.
Since two years I am thinking that I got these cancers on my skin because I was eating junk food and I assume I also have internal cancers that can't be seen. So I changed radically my diet and now I feel like 10 years younger.
One thing I learned is that my thyroid was lacking iodine, selenium and zinc. I discovered that there are very simple tests to check this, I will post this in the "prevention strategies" topic if it has not already be done.

Al, I get the same "Internal error" message..I suspect that the site has exceeded it's storage capacity ....the easiest way to do photos here is to "Host" the photo elsewhere like in google+, Flicker even facebook..
You upload the photo you want to use to that site and then once uploaded right click on the image and copy the image address.... like the image address I copied from the Topical info icon up in the left upper corner here..
http://topicalinfo.org/images/Topicalinfo.gif
Click on the "insert image" icon in the tool box of the compose message module here and you'll get this in your message img][img you paste the copied address in between the two img]photo address here[img .............. and you get this

Thanks for the info, I have to register to a photo hosting site and will try again to post. I found another video link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBtwWPykaYA Aloe and curcuma are on the list, I might try the lemon balm next time, I have a lot of them in my garden. What I am doing now is applying the curcuma/aloe on the other parts of my skin, they were previously cleared with the euphorbia peplus but we never know. I believe the 3M micropore helps a lot to keep the curcuma in close contact.
At day 13 I am very satisfied with the result, the skin has a normal aspect and there is no trace.
Tom, do you also follow a diet program to keep the cancer away?
Al

Hi Al,
No I have to admit I am still pretty bad at diet but much better than I was..Less meat, more vegetables but I still consume too much sugar...
That said I am REALLY inspired by Curcumin and what I am learning and have had some startling effect so far trying my own ways to apply this to my several large tumors.
The first day , befor eyou replied I just used Trader Joes Aloe and some "Super" curcumin supplement I bought...that was 95% curcumin...
I mixed up a paste and applied it to several tumors. I have a very large one on my right shoulder that I have been eating away at with a mixture of iodine and zinc chloride.....Very painful but slowly eating away at it.
None of the others on my forehead reacted like the one on my shoulder.
It is probably the deepest one I have...It stung a little when I applied but nothing like the other mixture.. It started aching a few hours later...The next day the whole area ached beyond my neck to the other side...I could barely turn my head to the right ..it really hurt. When I showered and cleaned it the next day it appeared that the tumor is shrinking ...maybe...finger crossed...the next day less pain and today very little pain turning my head to the right..If it was on a scale of 1 to 10..with it being a 10 when the pain started it has diminished to a 1.
I am also taking internally and will mix up my first batch of liposomal curcumin today...
There is a lot of data suggesting that curcumin is a very powerful cancer fighter...I will continue to search out how to use this stuff.
Biggest issue for me is what a pain in the butt it is on the staining / mess side...Hoping to figure out how to make it clear but no luck as of yet being as it is curcumin that makes Tumeric yellow.
I am a big proponent of the 3m micropore tape and it helps hide it.

Thanks for the video link, I assume this is what they are using in some super curcumin products : http://www.lifeextension.com/vitamins-supplements/item00407/super-bio-curcumin Here the purpose is to get the maximum amount of curcumin in the bloodstream, so I believe it won't help much with a topical use on the skin.
A deep cancer is very hard to clean with a topical treatment, I believe I got a skin cancer because my immune system was unable to fight. Even if I had 4 chirurgicaly removed they always came back. Things improved the day I added iodine in my diet, there is a simple "iodine patch test" that you can do at home with a Lugol solution, just google to find the details. I am actually taking 1 milli gram iodine per day and I'm fine. If you plan to add iodine be sure to also take selenium and zinc a few days before. Zinc is also easy to test at home with a zinc sulphate solution, google "zinc taste test". If you add zinc to your diet for a long period you also have to add copper, the immune system needs both.
What I don't really understand is now that my immune system seems to work it is unable to clear the remaining skin cancer. May be the cancer cells use some tricks to hide from the immune system.

Update of the curcumin/aloe : despite an apparent success and skin healing 3 weeks after the skin is still bleeding and has the same bad aspect. This time I decided to apply the euphorbia peplus again, I applied it yesterday and today the area is showing a strong reaction, it is burning and a big crust is growing. I'll wait some days and check the result.
For now I have to say that the curcumin test during 2 weeks is a failure. May be it should be tested on a longer period but the euphorbia looks more efficient, so I decided to use it again for the second time. This time I used a big drop of euphorbia to get a deeper effect.
Of course I'll update the result later.

I usually get superficial BCC (4 times) which spreads out in a circle at skin level, sort of like a brush fire spreads in weeds. I can usually knock out 98+% of it with Petty Spurge (euphorbia.) However, often one or more small, pinhead-size points will remain afterwards around the margin. Initially, I would immediately bomb them with PS again. However, because the main area wasn't fully healed yet, the PS would open the *entire* original area up again, like starting from zero all over. I used to wonder if that was because there was more latent BCC lingering in that large area. However, now I think not. BobCa provided helpful info in this PS thread which explained how the mechanism of PS goes after all fast-dividing cells — whether it's BCC or normal cells still in the fast-growing healing mode. Nowadays, if/when I get those pop-ups I tend to (a) hit them with concentrated vitamin C + DMSO or (b) just wait much longer before I resort to PS again. Concentrated Vitamin C + DMSO can often knock out those small outliers or at least suppress them substantially and prevent them from getting established. I find if I re-apply PS too soon, I am typically taken all the way back to square one with a big, open crater again because it also takes out all the new healed area. Just my experience with superficial BCC, FWIW. |

This is very interesting, thanks a lot for your help, the area I'm fighting with was treated with PS a year ago and I thought all was cleared but today it is reacting exactly the same way with a big burning and thick crust. I'll read BobCa posts on the PS topic because I don't think I will try the curcumin again. I always wondering when to apply the PS, once per day or only one time. I have all the ingredients to try the DMSO+vit C but I will read carefuly the posts on the DMSO+C before trying something because the area is near my eyebrow and I don't want to risk an eye damage. On this area I already tested boswellia and orange oil, apparently both were not able to repair or kill the cancer. The orange oil is not producing any sensation, despite the presence of abnormal cells.
On my forehead I succesfuly cleared BCC and SCC with boswellia and orange oil. I think the area I'm fighting has something special, may be another metatypical carcinoma, I keep hope to find something to clear it, I don't want to see Dr knife again :-) |

4 months later the cancer is back again, the euphorbia peplus treatment did not last very long. Since 2 weeks I am applying aloe arborescens juice, I posted my result in the related topic, just search for aloe arborescens if you want more details. |

Turmeric has been used for many years in some herbal remedies. The main active ingredient is curcumin or diferuloyl methane. Currently there is no research evidence to show that turmeric or curcumin can prevent or treat cancer but early trials have shown some promising results. In addition, a study carried out by Zheng et al. it has been reported that curcumin scavenged nitric oxide and acted as an inhibitor of the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS). These are required for the survival of the cancerous cells and anti-apoptotic (prevention of cell death) function. The study showed that curcumin was able to induce apoptosis in the melanoma cells and arrest this cell in the G2/M phase of the mitotic cell cycle. Curcumin was able to affect these pathways involved in the cell cycle which is important for the survival of the melanoma cells. |
