Back in the sixties and seventies, we never used sunscreen. Our family spent lots of time at the ocean. We would turn lobster red as the salt attracted the sun more and more to our little bodies. My Mom called us "Corned beef and cabbage" kids long before the Cabbage Patch dolls came out. Red like corned beef and pealing like cabbage. My Dad was the one who helped sooth the burns with a home made remedy.
I am so miserable now! Day 14 and I look like I have chicken pox all over my face. That's the only way to explain the burning and itch to those who have not done this! I sent my two sisters photos, hoping they might see a dermotologist. But maybe that was a mistake. A friend posted his "progress" on Facebook, which is why I made an appointment.
My mother has been treated for spots, since she was in her forties, especially around the nose. I can't believe my whole face is responding, especially the forehead, nose, and chin.I don't know why. Is it getting worse with each generation, or did we just have more time outdoors, driving, at the beach, etc? |
