I started using the Curaderm in March 2011. I finally was totally cured of this menacing disease by the end of August 2011. I had a BCC on the right side of my nose for about 14 years. Bruno, by the way, was a fantastic source to go to for information. Apparently, not everyone heals in the same time frame. I had been using so much cream that it took forever to close the wound. It healed within 2 weeks after I reduced the cream to about half of the amount that I was using. The only scar I have is where all of the new tissue grew to replace the damaged tissue. It's lighter than the rest of my skin so I dare not allow any sun on that area. By the way, I recommend using the micropore tape as it is not so obvious as a bandaid is. |

I agree. I too had success with Curaderm, and also found great support and advice in Bruno. |

Glad Curaderm worked for you but to be very clear it does not work for everybody and there are sevral people on this forum it did not work for.
I spent HUNDREDS of dollars on Curaderm and months of applying it and was not able to eradicate my BCC's.
There are many ways to deal with these skin cancers and people here have had great success with Petty Spurge and Bloodroot paste which are much less expensive.

I've spent hundreds on Curaderm too, and it has an absolute godsend for me. It has eliminated dozens of skin cancers on me, some of the exceptionally large and deep, has stopped the constant excisions and stitches, and literally saved my ear from being removed. I've also tried bloodroot paste and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Ever.
Have you tried bloodroot or petty spurge on yourself? Your post doesn't indicate you have, only that others here have. I've seen far too many examples of bloodroot entirely removing noses! Nothing cheap about replacing your nose :) |

At nearly 300 post and contributing to this site for several years, Yes I've used both bloodroot and petty spurge both with better results than Curaderm. And I've posted before, during and after pictures as proof.
The horror story circulating the net about the woman who lost her face because of bloodroot paste is absolute hogwash. The poor woman went through hell but it wasn't because of the bloodroot paste it was because of the extent of skin cancer she had.. the pictures are after Mohs surgery / before plastic surgery.
I have spoken to dozens of people personally and hundreds via the net that have used both bloodroot paste and petty spurge with success.
IMO blooodroot paste works much faster and efficiently than Curaderm which DID NOT even come close to eradicating my basal cell skin cancers after hundreds of dollars of money spent on it and months of applications using it. Petty spurge is very new to the forum but lots of people here have had good luck. I have only used it on a small BCC but it did take care of it quickly and relatively easy at no cost other than reaching down and plucking it from the ground where it grew wild near my house.
Great if Curaderm worked for you but you are the minority of users on this forum that have used it with success.
When I see a one sided thread like this where I know another side I post my side accordingly. I have nothing monetarily to gain but I don't want people thinking Curaderm is the Holy Grail of skin cancer cures. Especially when I personally know it isn't and know there are other treatments / concoctions that work as well or better that are written about on this site for those that want to put the effort into educating themselves at no cost to them but the time expended to do so.

To clarify...My reason for participating in this forum was and is to find something that works as good as bloodroot without the PAIN and swelling. Though Dan and other people have had some luck with various alternatives so far for me not so much luck. I'm currently trying some things that are holding the AK's at bay and eating away some of the Basal cells I have... but.... I am not going to scream Hallelujah until I think I really have something. It has been a painful few months and I'm at still "Experimenting", fingers crossed and hoping for the best. Been dealing with some major big daddy nodular basal cells on my forehead and shoulder... ugh! |

CURADERM BEC5 SUCCEEDS WHERE IMIQUIMOD (ALDARA) FAILS WHEN TREATING SKIN CANCER ON THE PENIS
A study recently published in Dermatologic Surgery (2011, 37, 858-861) by Dr Leonard Goldberg and colleagues from the Department of Dermatology, Weill Cornell Medical College in Houston, Texas has shown that treatment with the cream Curaderm BEC5 eliminated squamous cell carcinoma (Bown’s Disease) on the penis. A previous attempt to treat this cancer with two courses of Imiquimod (Aldara) failed as the lesion returned 1 year after treatment with the second course of Aldara. During treatment with Curaderm BEC5 the patient experienced the typical response to Curaderm BEC5, including inflammation and necrosis followed by ulceration and recpithelialization (regrowth of normal skin) of the treated skin. There was complete clinical regression of the patient’s tumour. The treatmet of this tumour with Curaderm BEC5 resulted in the sparing of tissue and preserved the functionality and thus Curaderm BEC5 treatment was superior to other more-destructive treatment options for Bown’s disease of the penis. It was similarly shown in another recent independent publication in the Journal of Cancer Therapy (2011, 2, 728-745) by T. R. Chase at the Australasian Medical Research Centre that Curaderm BEC5 treated other large skin tumours including a large squamous cell carcinoma on the penis. The article was appropriately titled: Curaderm BEC5 for Skin Cancers, is it? An Overview. The conclusion of the published article was: Curaderm BEC5 for Skin Cancers, it is!
