Unfortunately it looks like we are already getting spammers here e.g.
http://www.topicalinfo.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=57 Though seems sincere is a link to another site that has nothing to do with this forum.

And then this knucklehead http://www.topicalinfo.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=66

It would be a very arduous task for big time spammers to come to site like this and go through the members and e-mail each..it's possible but unlikely.

Thanks, Dan, for paying attention to this. I didn't copy the entire email. The subject heading was similar to other Forum emails that I have received, as follows: "Sent From Skin Cancer Forum by magp334" - so, even if he was not generating the email from the forum, he certainly was using the reference to the Forum to get me to read an email from a stranger, which I usually do not do. Also, there is no other place besides this forum where I am known by the name "Thanks01," which he used inside the email message.

Thank you, magp334 is removed. I wonder if spammers really learn email addresses using the forum to send messages?

Turns out I still have it in my spam box. Here's a copy of the start:

Hello thanks01

You received the following message from: magp334

Greetings,
I Hope all is well with you, this message might come to you as a surprise as I re send it because we never meet or communicate with each other before, please let this message never come to you as a surprise since I am contacting you for goods and in good faith. My name is Mr. George Philip from Ivory Coast West Africa; I am searching for a very reliable Person, who will assist me in my investment plans over there in your base,

Also, Dan - I sent the scam email right away to my SPAM box, so I can't give you much info on where it came from, etc. Perhaps someone else can do this, if you are interested.

Dan - I just received one of those SCAM emails about investing in Nigeria which was channeled to me via my TopicalInfo registration. It had the intro about being an email from the forum, but it was one of those scams. Just thought you'd like to know that our address list has probably been cracked into.

Thanks Tom, I removed the two posts. I will gladly take you up on the offer if I can figure out how to make someone a moderator.
