I have an odd question for any and all who would like to give an opinion.... My non-melanoma leison, which is undiagnosed, does not have any pain associated with it at all. Even after putting several of the mentioned topical treatments on it. No itching either. I've noticed that most people on this forum state that they have some minor to major pain when treatments are applied. Does anyone have any idea why this could be???? Thanks for any feedback.

My first thought when I read this was, how lucky for you! The pain and itching from my bcc have been tormenting me for a couple of years now.
But to answer your question, and I'm just guessing, it could be that your lesion is not reacting to any treatments because they (the treatments) aren't going deep enough to have an effect on it.
My bcc is on my face where it's eaten into a network of capillaries and nerve endings, so it bleeds easily and itches, stings, burns, etc. almost nonstop. It's possible that your lesion isn't deep enough to have gotten into the nerves yet. Mine didn't bother me the first year or so, until it began to get deeper into the tissue.
Are you noticing any change in the lesion from the treatments you've used?

Thanks for your response Grace2Go. I felt a little lucky until I realized its probably just a ticking time bomb and the pain will probably be horrible if I can't kick this thing. But yes, this lesion is coming up on a year old in a couple of months so its not that "old". The lesion reacted to the Vit C/Aloe treatment (it didn't burn but I did get some tingling) for the first few days and then seemed to stall and I got no reaction at all so I stopped using it. It seemed to start healing up after that but although its not an open sore so to speak, I don't really feel that its healed. Here's the link where I sort of hijacked skinnygirls post. (Sorry Skinnygirl) http://www.topicalinfo.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=616 Here's a link to my photos during the the Vit C/Aloe treament. http://s862.photobucket.com/albums/ab183/naturalsahm/nose%20pics/ |
