Howdy,
I recently was told by a dermatologist that I possibly had a "pre-cancerous" spot at the tip of my nose. She prescribed a cream, Solaraze 3% gel that ended up burning like hell and blistering. I was supposed to use it for 90 days. Right. I discontinued after three weeks. I've read conflicting opinions on the Curaderm, with some people calling it a hoax. Any ideas on how to stop this spot before he progresses to the full blown cancer?

Solaraze (Diclofenac sodium) belongs to a class of medications commonly called NSAIDs or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Other medicines in this category include over-the-counter analgesics like aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, etc.) and naproxen (Aleve).

Other topicals that have worked for others include petty spurge sap (in the milkweed class), orange oil, pancreatin enzymes and aloe vera gel (Cymilium), bloodroot, eggplant and vinegar, vitamin C paste, Carac and Efudex (prescription), and Perrin's Blend. Am I missing any? |

| Dear Becky, I used solaraze for 90 days for sun-damaged skin and the results were not very exciting. On your pre-cancer, I wonder why she didn't freeze it off with liquid nitrogen. Could you ask her or get a second opinion? |
