Thanks ssw, excellent post! To those that have never heard of a manuka bush like me, this excerpt from Wikipedia helps identify it as related to the more familiar tea tree where we get tea tree oil.
"Manuka honey is from bees who feed on the flowers of the Manuka bush, also known as the "Tea Tree" to produce a honey that has anti-bacterial properties. Tea tree oil is commonly from the related Melaleuca tree native to Australia and is used as a topical antibiotic and antifungal for wounds that fail to close."
Tea tree oil is also an ingredient in SunSpot ES, a topical cream that seems to heal some people's skin cancer. Manuka honey may be altogether different from tea tree oil, but I thought the connection was worth bringing up.
