Late 40's, history of skin cancer in the family and have spent way too much of my lifetime in the sun!

I have 7 or 8 faint sunspots on my face, several on my upper arm, and a few on my lower leg and back.....if I happen to catch too much sun (which recently is something I avoid as much as possible)the sunspots would become sore to touch and become slighter redder....over the years I have been applying Aloe Vera gel to the SP several times per week...they don't seem to get any better or worse

I had a "sun spot" on my lower calf, about a 1/2 inch (12.5 mm) in diameter. The sun spot was light brown colored and was slightly raised...it had not changed for years, then it seemed to change slightly, it became slightly darker and seemed to become a little bigger.

So..for a about a month I used a "100%" Aloe Vera product that contained alcohol, I plastered on 5 or 6 applications daily on the sunspot and surrounding skin during the last week of the month..and then the area became really itchy, the sunspot shed skin daily and then started to weep.

It looked to me like the beginnings of a ulcer!

The skin around the weeping sunspot, about 1 1/2 inch (40 mm) became red, slightly raised %26 bumpy and looked like an allergic reaction.

In hindsite it seems I was applying too much!

Well.... then I surfed across this site...and I stopped using that brand quick smart. I chose another brand of Aloe Vera gel(that contained no alcohol), I added a pinch of sodium bicarbonate to spoonful of AV to raise the pH...and after a week added 5 drops of fresh urine

I mix up a little amount each day

At the same time I reduced my protein intake to one small portion per day, avoided acidy food and drink, chewed my food more and tried to exercise more.

After a week the ulcer had closed up and stopped weeping, the surrounding redness is improving and it looks it's well on the way to clearing up!

I feel the improvement is due to a combination of the aloe vera in an alkaline form and an improved digestion system (low protein, low acid diet)

I might also buy a few pots of aloe vera for the balcony as I'm sure fresh AV would be better than processed, colored and packaged aloe vera gel

this site has been informative... thanks for the advice....I'll post again in a week or so to let you know how it's going.
