Dear Folks,
Sometime ago I wrote to tell you that I was beginning the Curaderm treatment on a bcc on my nose. I began this treatment on 8/29/07. Today, Oct 2, I am writing again to give you my promised update.
It has been a pretty scary period at times but I actually think the lesion is mending. After I started using the cream, it grew much larger 3/8" ...as they said it probably would. They said I must have had pretty deep roots. Anyway, sometimes when I applied the cream I could feel it almost to my forehead. It would sting but never terribly painfully. Always, it would feel increasingly better in a few minutes. (I did occasionally feel headachey, too) Then it began to get layers of yellow mucous (serous) which I would clean off or it would work off by itself....also dead white skin.
Now, the ridge around the edge has flattened out, the swelling is almost completely gone, and the cream more or less just lays on the lesion buy doesn't sting. They told me to just treat it twice a day, now and with only a thin layer of cream. The edges are closing in (as is the pit) and some of it is healing over with what appears to be new healthy skin.
Hooray!!! I am so glad that i kept going with it though at times I really wondered. I did have several nights of worry and I treated the thing so often (6-8times/day) that my nose became raw from the tape. So then treated around the edge with vaseline which really helped. Now, I realize that the opera is not entirely over so I won't send pics yet; however, either way, I promise to let you know. Bless you all.
