Hi, I haven't been around for almost a year. I didn't have much to say until now. Sorry this is not a topical treatment, but seems to belong here.
After stopping petty spurge last December, which did me no good, I didn't do much till this Spring. I have a large area that was affected with several small sores that had merged into one, on the side of my nose. In the Spring, I decided one last topical I would try, with ascorbic acid. Four weeks of torture later, this also did me no good. I had a large wound, which seemed like scar tissue, surrounded by a narrow band of scabby skin. I started acupuncture for another reason, andmy acupuncture lady also treated my face (ouch). It seemed to help a little. However, as the scar tissue broke up pand dissolved, it was replaced with scabby skin that would periodically bleed here and there.
About a month ago I decided that one thing I had never tried for my health was large doses of oral vitamin c. I read on-line and heard in YouTube lectures (Andrew Saul and Dr. Thomas Levy) that with frequent enough doses, one can get their blood levels up approaching the level that is achieved with IV vitamin C, a well known alternative treatment for cancer.
I decided to take 1 gram (1000 milligrams) of ascorbic acid every hour while awake. Let me tell you that I never reached the level of bowel intolerance doing this. After 10 days,I thought my face looked a little better. After another week, I was sure it was improving, but nothing to write home about. Given this response, I decided to go with Liposperic Vitam C from LiVon, which Dr. Levy recommends. He says in a lecture on YouTube that 10 packets of Liposperic C (10 grams or 10,000 milligrams) would give you the equivalent of a vitamin C IV of 50 grams. As some of you may know, the Livon C costs $1 per packet, so 10 packets a day would cost $10. You can get it a little less expensive at iHerb.com, because they give you discounts depending upon how much you spend. So 5% off $40, and right now a special 10% off $60.
I also decided that I would take 1 packet of Liposperic C every 2 hours while awake, and in between those doses I would take the one gram of ascorbic acid. Yeah, I was serious. This morning, after only 2 full days on this regimine (I managed to get into me 9 packets of Liposperic C per day plus the ascorbic acid), my skin is unbelievably improved. What started out as a wound roughly the size of an elongated quarter, is now smaller than the size of an elongated dime. The area surrounding this is still red and some feels a little rough, but understand that a few days ago these were bleeding sores, all merged into one.
Now the bad news, besides the cost of this -- when I woke up this morning, I had a rash on my upper body, pretty much all over my chest and it seems there is some on my back. Also today, I have been feeling crummier and crummier and have developed a bad headache. I ended up taking 7 packs of Liposperic C today, as well as the ascorbic acid which I do not keep track of.
I don't know where I go with this. I probably will back off (reduce) the Lipo C, since this is likely the cause of this reaction. Hate to back off given the dramatic improvement.
Please understand that I added the vitamin c to my usual way of eating plus a lot of other supplements. All organic food, low animal foods, mostly vegetables nuts/seeds and beans. Fresh veggie juice almost every day (16 ounces or more, that takes a lot of veggies, mostly carrots (about 2 lbs.) beets, some greens like kale; and sometimes celery, cabbage, whatever I have around.)
Will check back in. Hope everyone is doing well.

The next day, Sunday, I took 2 packets of Livon C, 3 hours apart, with ascorbic acid in between, and got terribly sick. I felt like I had the flu. I went to bed and slept 5 hours, all afternoon.
The next day I felt fine, better than usual actually. And of course my rash disappeared.
Another day I got 4 Livon packets in, and didn't feel well at all. But I do think this stuff works, so I have decided that starting after the holidays, I will do 3 intense Livon days a week, just as if I were doing chemo or getting IV vitamin C. Something like Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Plus Always taking ascorbic acid 1 gram about every hour.
About a week ago, I started using orange oil topically on the area, about 3 days "on" and then a few days "off" as Dan suggested.
Wishing everyone Happy Holidays. |

interesting. Any non-liposomal VC you take, you're only gonna get about 20% of that, so that 1000mg is really 200mg. I found that when I took liposomal VC on an empty stomach, it had the best effect (I used the sunflower based formula from http://www.liponaturals.com/ with apple juice). Tastes terrible but I could really feel it work. I woudn't count on oral-only treatment to cure skin cancer, the skin barrier to get to it is just too dense. My latest attack of sodium ascorbate + DMSO seems to be attacking my scalp BCC well. I wasnt aggressive enough with the dmso part my first time and it came back. |

Hi Doug, thanks for your comments. I am also using topical orange oil, and may try some tea tree oil, yes mixed with DMSO. I've been following your posts on another thread.
I don't know why though you say the skin barrier is too dense to use an oral treatment. The way I look at it, the skin is nourished from underneath, and so I can get nutrients into the area from underneath. The area bleeds, so what I can get into my blood, can get to the area. In any event, I think hitting it topically and systemically (oral treatment) is a good idea. One person I remember posted on these threads somewhere, that he had an SCC on his lip, which dramatically retreated when he was consistent with drinking a lot of home juiced citrus fruit (put through a regular juicer with the peel left on).
Thanks again for your comments. I am following your posts on the topical vitamin c thread. Good luck! |

I didn't say the skin barrier is too dense to use an oral treatment, I said I wouldn't rely on oral-only treatment. Topical+oral I feel is so much more effective. |

Thanks Doug.
I ordered and just received an essential oil that I wanted to try. It is called Helichrysum italicum. It is very expensive. I got the tiny bottle, 5 ml, which I think is 1/6 an ounce , for $80. But using only a drop or two a day, it will still last a long time. I got mine from Native American Nutritionals, which has merged with Rocky Mountain Oils, so they are the same. They still have separate websites, though, and amazingly, some things that are listed as "out of stock" on one, might still be available on the other.
Anyway, people say this is a miracle skin healer, and now with only 2 applications, over 2 days, I might be inclined to agree. In fact, after the first application, overnight, the appearance of my skin changed dramatically. The one large sore is now breaking up into a few very small sores, with skin healing in between.
Am still using orange oil, 3 days on, 3 days off. I put the Heli on at night. It is very strong smelling, and after just a few minutes, I can taste it and I can always smell it, even after washing.
Just throwing this out these are something people want might t consider. Given what I have spent on other treatments, this is not so bad cost-wise. As I said, I expect this tiny bottle to last at least 2 months.
This EO company sells other oils, which are blended with some of this Heli in it, so those cost a lot less. If you go to their website and search for this oil, and look at the info, it will tell you which blends have this in it. One of them, First Aid, I bought to put on my heels, and other areas of my feet, which get so dry they bleed. This oil has helped tremendously, and I'm not even that consistent using it. It has tea tree oil in it, and it might make a decent skin cancer treatment on its own. Another, Gentle Healer, is a blend of Heli and Tamanu oil, so that is also less expensive and might be a good one to try. But given the seriousness of my problem, I went for the straight stuff.
Hope everyone is well. |

Sorry I did not update sooner. I wouldn't waste my time or money on that Heli essential oil. All it did was make me bleed and bleed. It is a strong anticoagulant. Since stopping it, the area still bleeds a lot more than it used to. Maybe it would help in the long run, but it's hard to know what to do. I just don't feel I can use something that prevents me from leaving my home except for the briefest of errands. It's important to have a life, even with a bandaid over the side of your nose.
I am still hanging in there. Right now I am using topically DMSO first (soak the area with DMSO diluted to 50% with distilled water) then swabbing the area with a 50/50 mix of tea tree oil and olive oil. This doesn't really hurt, even though it is basically an open wound. The DMSO is just a little irritating. Later in the day I usually repeat the application of the oil mix once or twice more, without more DMSO. I'm considering switching out the tea tree oil for thyme essential oil, maybe alternating. 3 days of each, something like that.
I think a lot of going to have this treated conventionally, but I think it would be very traumatic. But it's hard dealing with my family, all of whom are big into conventional medicine. My sister is a nurse, and my brother-in-law is an oncologist, of all things!
I still take lots of vitamin C orally. I stopped having a bad reaction to liposomal c a while ago (no more rashes, no more flu-like symptoms), so now I try to take it every day. I actually feel better in general taking lots of liposomal c, than taking lots of ascorbic acid.
I wish everyone the best, and will check back in.
