I'm against type for actinic keretoses (AKs)--I'm an olive-complected brunette female, and the AKs are on my legs from knee to ankle. Shouldn't I see some results the Efudex 5% is starting to work after 5 days of use? I was not given instructions about the cream's application except to use twice daily. Am I allowed to shower daily? Is any leg "prep" such as washing necessary before each application of the cream? How thick a layer of cream is necessary? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It should be working. You should make an inquiry to your dr.

I used efudex for 4 weeks. I really didn't see a reaction (i.e. redness and itching) until 10 days. After the 10th day, it seemed to develop rapidly overnight.
