I tried moderate diet adjustments to see what it would do for my urine pH, but it just didn't move the needle. It was kind of a guess what my levels were because for awhile I was using strips that we use for the swimming pool, and the gradations in that range were non existent. But I think the pH of urine was generally under 5.
So, I initiated more drastic changes, including eliminating milk, which I love, and ordering some powdered Green Vibrance for snacks, and very little meat protein. I also ordered some better pH strips. I still needed a pH boost but was scared to add the baking soda since I have high blood pressure and I felt it could affect that.
I had found an alkalinizing formula that is a substitute for baking soda. It isn't as cheap, but not too bad--Ecological Formulas Tri-Salts. It contains calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, and potassium bicarbonate. I dose on that depending on my urine pH and basically I need about a couple of teaspoons a day so far. Yesterday I got one urine pH reading over 7.0 for the first time.
So, today I took my blood pressure and is it ever improved!! Very low, so low that I am skipping my medicine today. 110 over 70. Now, I don't know if it has to do with the urine pH being over 7.0 which apparently I could have done with baking soda, or the fact that I am taking this extra potassium, magnesium and calcium, and no extra sodium, except for the funny lemon juice protocol, or both.
Whatever, it is working. I celebrated by having a few bites of chicken last night. This morning my pH was 6.4. Oh, I do allow myself one cup of coffee with half and half ONLY. I used to drink two cups. I always have the Tri Salts after I drink coffee.

hmmm, back to the old blood pressure, ugh, so I am left to figure out what it was other than alakalinzing that made it change that day.
Two candidates--one Green Machine the day before at Whole Foods that has some celery juice in it? Keep in mind I have some powdered green drinks for home so I am not sure.
It could have been the day after I really went nuts on the Liposomal Vitamin C, having something like 10 packets throughout the day.
I ordered some more Liposomal Vitamin C and will try that. Maybe I need a diary.
My urine pH was over 8 this morning so I am slacking off on the Tri Salts and eating a bit of meat. I realize that Dan offers a different method of measuring pH but I would like to keep my morning urine pH around 8 for a few days (but not higher). I know that there are different schools of thought on all this. |
