Posted - 12/23/2008 : 22:33:07 Dear Friends,
I am a new member of your forum, which, unfortunately, I discovered too late for using topical solutions.
My 80 year old father was diagnosed with BCC on the left cheek 2.5 years ago, which was surgically removed. Half a year ago some metastases in a salivary gland were found. The salivary gland and some surrounded tissues were removed as well, which followed by radiotherapy, which was completed 2 months ago. No results yet.
I've been searching for some alternative or ajuvant treatments for him. This site seems to be the most comprehensive, and the forum posts are the most specific I ever seen. What treatment protocol would you suggest in this case?
Any advice will be highly appreciated.
With best regards, Nekto

Posted - 01/04/2009 : 01:53:49 Nekto, thanks very much for the posts. There are so many potential cancer treatments, it is hard to decide which are the most promising. It looks like you have done your research well. I wish the best for you and your father, and look forward to your updates. |

Posted - 01/02/2009 : 04:39:00 Hi Dan,
First, I apologize for a mistake. The cancer of my father is SCC, not BCC. So your guess was absolutely correct.
I've been surprised that Avemar is almost unknown in the U.S. There are quite a few clinical studies on it, both on pubmed and www.avemarusa.com. Yes, it's rather expensive (currently, $125 for a monthly supply), but many other proprietary supplements, like Poly-MVA are much more expensive.
Properly prepared oleander seems to be absolutely safe. It's even passed the FDA safety tests. Both www.cancertutor.com and www.mnwelldir.org endorse it as one of the most powerful anti-cancer therapies, and they both refer to the "Oleander soup" site (www.tbyil.com/articles.htm) as the main source of information, which has a very active forum as well. And now oleander is commercially available from a reliable vendor www.sutherlandiaopc.com, where I get it from and consider it to be a great service. You can check it out. And my father has been taken these pills for 4 months now with no adverse effects.
Again, thank you very much for your feedback.
I will keep you posted, Nekto

Posted - 12/31/2008 : 01:42:41 Nekto, it is great to have you here. It sounds like we can learn a bit from you. I was thinking the cancer in the mouth was probably not directly related to the skin BCC. Metastatic basal cell carcinoma is a rare clinical entity, with a reported incidence of only 0.0028-0.5 percent. My guess is the mouth cancer is more likely SCC which has a greater tendency to metastasize and is therefore more dangerous, but of course that is just a guess.
Well, a saliva pH of 8.0 is certainly high enough and should help. Saliva pH should be measured at least several hours after eating or drinking to prevent food pH from affecting the results.
I like most of the things you are trying. Your post is the first I've heard of Avemar (fermented wheat germ extract). It sounds OK but is expensive and also has been shown to increase estrogen receptor activity, kind of like genistein which I avoid despite having some good qualities. I'm a little worried about oleander being too toxic, but I'm not very familiar with it either. |

Posted - 12/30/2008 : 03:15:32 Hi Dan,
Thank you very much for your reply. I did study your site very diligently. When you mentioned about the mouth cancer did you mean that the skin BCC can metastasize there, or a secondary cancer can develop, or something else? Should he watch for or do something specific to prevent it?
Thank you for the links. I have visited many sites, but not this one.
I will check out methyl jasmonate. Right now he's taking oleander pills as the main therapy. Also, he's taking IP6 (Cell Forte), LDN, Essiac tea, multivitamins/minerals, covalent silver, and Budwig mixture. We will supplement it with systemic enzymes, fish oil, curcumin, and CLA. I don't think he can take much more than that.
One ND suggested Avemar. Any opinion on that?
His saliva is extreamly alkaline -- it's beyond the scale of my strips, which is 8.0.
We are waiting for the PET scan to see the results. Meanwhile, he seems to get weaker again after some post-radiation recovery.
Thanks again for the advice. I will post the results of the treatment.

Posted - 12/29/2008 : 01:22:09 I would be a lot more worried about the cancers in the mouth than on the skin. There are dozens of cancer treatment and prevention strategies listed at http://www.topicalinfo.org/Treatment.htm and http://www.topicalinfo.org/Prevention.htm I think the best set of cancer treatment strategies with specific dosages is at http://cancerprotocol.grouppekurosawa.com See also http://grouppekurosawa.com/blog/ as the protocol is frequently updated.
Methyl Jasmonate in particular seems intriguing as a cancer treatment. One way to get at least a little methyl jasmonate is to drink jasmine green tea.
I would try to increase the saliva pH to about 7-8 as people with cancer usually have very acidic saliva (~4.5). One strategy that seems easy and might help is to use sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) as toothpaste. |
