I had a BIOPSIED 1 centimeter melanoma-in-situ lesion on my face. It is now apparently gone.
Over a period of five months with multi week interruptions in treatment, I cleared up the lesion on my cheek. 15 years ago I used MOHs to remove a lesion from my chest. I didn't want a two inch scar on the face, plus I anticipate more cancer down stream and this gave me a chance to experiment and learn what worked in my body against cancer cells of this type.
I used the dr Simoncini protocol using 5% lugol's solution through 3 iterations over a period of about 2 months. Each iteration, or chemical peel, produced a lighter lesion. A plastic surgeon I consulted later saw nothing to operate on. He also mentioned that iodine was safe and he was in fact using it on three women with facial lesions.
But there still were three pencil point black dots, call them colonies, that I wanted gone. So I used a water extract of Cinnamon capsule dissolved in DMSO to eliminate those three dots. (Pubmed search "Melanoma and cinnamon" for 3 studies of cinnamon.)
I finished off with ascorbate in DMSO paste I made up in clean shot glass daily. I took breaks between treatment protocols. I also take mega vit C, 20 g daily, and many other supplements for other health issues. I am 65. The supplements have helped me avoid five surgeries in the past seven years.

Also check out this pubmed link entitled
"Sodium ascorbate (vitamin C) induces apoptosis in melanoma cells..."
for confirmation of vit C and what your poor dermatologist doesn't know...
