Posted - 04/19/2010 : 08:30:12 Hi,
I've have a rather persistent raised red wheal with small crusty spot on top, sometimes itchy sometimes sore (it's located on my hand in a spot that gets a lot of contact when I'm doing practically ANYthing, which I think causes more irritation than otherwise would have happened) It's the only one I have (to the naked eye)
Since I have huge mistrust of MDs - and almost nonexistent health insurance- I came to this forum to see if I could at least try to alleviate it. I put a gauze pad saturated with apple cider vinegar (the organic kind) taped over it overnight and this morning it looks less red and felt better. I wonder if I shouldn't just keep putting the ACV pads on it 24/7 or give it a break (for now I'll give it a break) The ACV didn't hurt or burn- felt pretty good, in fact. I used the ACV for my dog's ear infection and it cleared it out FAST.
Anyone with experience with this, can you tell me how long it generally takes for it to shrink/fade, etc.? Is SunSpot ES available at drug stores? The insides of a Vitamin A capsule, I've heard, helps too. Anyone have any info? For now, sticking with the ACV and smelling like a salad. |

Posted - 04/22/2010 : 07:32:57 Addendum: I've put cotton saturated with ACV over it for a couple of days now (leaving a couple of hours for it to get air)
Top of it is white, it's not nearly as inflamed looking or feeling. Not crusty any more. It's the only such thing I have like this, and I'm really not sure WHAT it is (it got VERY irritated because of where it is, maybe more so than because of what it is) so covering it while using the ACV seems to be a good idea in any case.
