Hi.

A biopsy in Feb 09 confirmed that I had a BCC on a my
left nostil.

I have been applying Cymilium and a home brew of Aloe and SuperClens to it since then. It does not LOOK bad. In fact, it looks very healthy now.

My Derm Doctor has wanted to do a Mohs on my nose since Feb 09.
I'm trying to avoid that.

I talked to him today and told him I wanted to keep trying my
home topical treatments and plan for a 2nd biopsy in 2 months
(Aug 09). He agreed but said I should try Prescription Aldara.

I've read a little about it online, but I wonder if anybody
has any opinion or experience with this, for treating BCC?

thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
hopefully someone emailed you about their experiences w/Aldara. Using the search function on the top of the page works quite well - just type in Aldara. From what i've read here some folks seem to think it works well but is a rather miserable experience. Others think that is too risky to use based on some very bad reactions that some have had with it - i.e. ruined their health. I was given some Aldara samples by a derm and did not use them as after doing some reading i wasn't sure i wanted to mess with "activating" the cytokines via Aldara as there are some accounts on the web of side effects that include people developing auto-immune disorders (where the body's immune system attacks the body itself as though it were a microbe or cancer or other invader). There are some who say it may cause cancer. Too new and too many potential nasty side-effects for me.
