I have been seeing a lot of advertising in periodicals I receive for Phytoplankton by Nutrition 500.

Their website is www.getwellstaywellnow.com

Any opinions on this?

Thanks, Dan. I had the same opinion. I emailed the company on Thursday night asking a few ????, such as are there any meds. or other vitamins you should NOT take while taking the Plankton. I'm still waiting for a response. If I recive a response, I'll let you know.

To me, plankton seems similar to algea products such as spirulina, blue-green, or chlorella. I think I would try these cheaper products first because the $80 a bottle for plankton would deter me. Algea products typically get good reviews from people that take them. http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-Spirulina-Natural-Whole-Food-Algae/pd_section-pr#ProductReviews

Here are typical descriptions of the benefits of chlorella and spirulina:

Chlorella is an all-natural detoxifier. It is said to aid in digestion and helps rid your body of harmful metallic toxins. Chlorella is a single-cell, freshwater algae that contains a large amount of proteins and amino acids that not only help detoxify but assist in boosting the immune system.

Chlorella gets its name from the amount of chlorophyll it possesses. Chlorophyll has been shown to be one of the most effective ways to cleanse the bowels and other elimination systems, such as your liver and blood. In fact, Chlorella contains more chlorophyll per gram than any other plant.

Chlorella may be beneficial in relieving high levels of DDT, PCB, mercury, cadmium and lead in the body. Chlorella also contains the powerful digestive enzymes chlorophyllase and pepsin. These assist in increasing good intestinal bacteria, controlling bad breath and decreasing the instances of constipation.

Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae whole food. It contains all eight essential amino acids, making it a complete protein, plus B-complex vitamins, beta carotene, vitamin E, carotenoids, manganese, zinc, copper, iron, gamma linoleic acid (GLA) and calcium.

Plankton is probably good stuff, just the price seems very high.
