hello there,

in order for dmso to penetrate the skin it must be in a concentration of 80-90%. It is a good carrier of low molecular weight substances.

the only dmso you should use is medical or pharmaceutical grade that you can get through your doctor otherwise it could be contaminated with toxic chemicals. this is dangerous because dmso carries these chemicals into your bloodstream.

using dmso in a topical is very important and helps to ensure that the cancer fighting agents reach all of the cancer cells. if the cancer is under the skin the use of dmso is very important because the skin is made up of a tough outer layer that will prevent most topical treatments from adequately being absorbed.

Testing the selectivity of a cancer treatment by placing it on normal skin is not a test at all...because the skin is a barrier. A true test of selectivity (to see if the treatment only kills cancer cells)is one where the treatment is applied to normal cells beneath the skin using a penetrating carrier.

hope my comments help,

TS

DMSO is the acronym of the strange chemical solvent dimethyl sulfoxide. You can read about DMSO at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimethyl_sulfoxide DMSO penetrates the skin very readily and it can be used as a delivery system for various medicines. It also has somewhat weak anticancer properties by itself.

SunSpot ES (see http://www.vitacost.com/LaneLabsSunSpotESGel ) is a topical gel containing a blend of glycoalkaloids, aloe vera, salicylic acid (aspirin), tea tree oil, and menthol. Some people have reported it helps their skin cancers shrink.
