Posted - 02/05/2014 : 23:47:58 I have a diagnosed nodular BCC on my nose. It is on the bridge of the nose and not the side. Has anyone used curaderm for here? I am concerned as skin is thin. My dermatologist would prescribe Aldara but not discuss curaderm. Also should I use the curasol sunscreem on surrounding face when treating with curaderm? Thank you in advance for any help. |

Posted - 02/07/2014 : 22:49:05 Lynn8345. Interesting to hear and I wondered why you did not try curaderm? I have not yet started curaderm - not yet arrived- as exploring the web, it seems some dermatologists offer ALA PDT photodynamic therapy- which is said to be quick and scar free (even if not 100% success rate). Seems more available in Australia and luckily, I could get to Oz on holiday, so I am trying to locate a dermatologist - they seem immune to email. I do not want to start a topical treatment if it would rule out PDT but your comments re vitamin C are encouraging. |

Posted - 02/06/2014 : 06:50:39 Hi Kayone I have spent hours and hours reading everything I could get my hands on to avoid surgery and I think the best course of action is a multi-product one. I had a BBC on the tip of my nose that had been growing for years. It was not a nodule but more of the superficial type with the sore that wouldn't heal and rosacea looking line coming out of it. The plastic surgery would be fairly significant using cheek stays with weeks to months of recovery and scars. My surgery is scheduled for March 10 and it was only January - so I thought I would go ahead and try some of these cures. I opted for the Vitamin C ascorbic acid one - purchased the Now 100% ascorbic crystals on line at amazon - mixed with water- and put it all over my nose. I had so many areas that "erupted" that I thought for sure the vitamin C was causing it but reading all the posts I kept going. Gets much worse before gets better and the ascorbic acid stings but is bearable. I recently switched to the sodium ascorbate and it is painless but I'm healing so well that I don't know if it would have opened the areas as quickly and aggressively as the other. I just got some food grade 3% peroxide and I am using that as well after the C treatment. I use aloe (from a plant cut the leaves) and virgin, coconut oil (trader Joes) liberally after each treatment and whenever all day. I am on day 15 or so and I couldn't be more excited that this is actually working. I should receive my iodine today (lugol's 5%) and plan on using that as well for good measure. Pictures soon of my progress - the pics from "busy Mom" really inspired me as well as the postings from "skinny girl". take a look at their stories on this forum as well. Best of Luck |
