I am new to this forum. Four years ago, i had one MOHS procedure for a basal cell cancer on my cheek and two years ago applied Efudex to my cheeks for actinic (solar) keratosis/keratoses (AK's). I may use Efudex again but would rather not because of its possible systemic nature. Currently, I have several AK's on my face and chest. I have searched the forums for experiences, thoughts, etc. on Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) but do not see much. Has anyone gone this route and, if so, how many treatments did you require and what were/are your thoughts on this procedure. Thanks very much!!

Hi did you go ahead with PDT? I am thinking of trying now but need to travel to have it done so makes it costly. I am reluctant to try a topical remedy until I have tried PDT -sounds so easy- because I reckon once a topical salve is used dermatologists are likely not to want to try PDT.
