I posted this under a different heading earlier, so apologies if you already read it!!
According to published work by the developers, BEC5 kills a number of other cancers in vitro, apparently including melanoma [in vitro and ex vivo means removed from the patient into an artificial environment] --
CuradermBEC5 for Skin Cancers, Is It? An Overview -- Journal of Cancer Therapy, 2011, 2,at p732 -- http://www.scirp.org/Journal/PaperInformation.aspx?paperID=16648
"Ex Vivo studies have demonstrated that BEC is effective against a wide spectrum of human cancers and that BEC is, in a dose dependent manner, selectively killing cancer cells without harming normal cells [11-16,32,34, 47,49-52].
"Figure 4 illustrates the specificity of BEC on different cancer cells [including melanoma] and lack of effect on normal cells. This figure shows BEC at a concentration of 10 #956;g/mL eliminates various cancer cell lines but has no effect on normal cells such as the sensitive bone marrow cells. "BEC and its individual components solamargine and solasonine have been shown to be very effective in killing other human cancer cells such as Ehrlich carcinoma, K562 leukaemia, colon (HI29) cancer, liver (Hep G2) cancer cells, promyelocytic leukaemia (HL-50) and lung cancer cells but not normal cells [11-20, 50-53]"

Posted - 08/18/2012 : 17:12:17 Hey all,
I've had AC for 5 years now.
Imiquimod was my primary treatment - definitely helpful, but not a cure. Pre-imiquimod my lips were almost constantly covered in ulcers (very gooey ones), bled, and pain through the roof - I couldn't even drink water without a straw. Post-imiquimod - I get cycles - 4-6 days of normal, pain free lips, albeit sensitive to touch, followed by 4-6 days of small ulcer or two, easy bleeding, swelling, and pain. The painful times are NOTHING like they used to be, but bad enough that people still notice and they still impact my life greatly.
Currently, I'm working with a naturopath/homeopathic doctor, and I'm not sure what to think. Here is what he's suggested:
Allergy elimination diet - I've been on this for two weeks, eating nothing but rice, green veggies, some allowed fruits, turkey, fish (not shellfish), olive oil, and canola oil. He advised keeping the fish in my diet b/c it's so good for skin. I've had 2 cycles in 2 weeks, so I haven't seen a change yet. How long to I stay eating like this before I decide if food is contributing or not?
Homeopathy - I am taking silica 3 days per week, been doing this for 1 month, no change. I also avoid mint/peppermint items, caffeine, "vibrations" - like no using the microwave or electric toothbrush. I've never believed in this stuff before, and still don't, but I'm willing to try anything.
Vitamins - taking vitamin D3 and B-complex - no changes. I've done this on and off for the past 5 years too.
Finally - the Big Question - he's suggesting I self-medicate with Euphorbia Peplus. From my research it works similarly to imiquimod by killing off the cells it comes in contact with, and seems to have a lot of promising research as an up-an-coming cancer treatment. I've only found one study that was negative towards it, saying that for those it didn't work for, there was risk of the AC coming back a little bit worse. Has anyone tried this? I can't decide if I should go for it.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

Posted - 03/23/2012 : 02:14:27 Curaderm (per Curaderm up to about 2011 at least) is NOT for melanoma. See their website http://www.vanuatumedical.com/. I would follow their directions. |
